Caspar Steinkopf was introduced as one of the Sheriff's men in Robin Hood and Little John by Pierce Egan the Younger. He refused to acknowledge that the attractive maid Maude Lindsay had rejected his advances and tried to rape her when he encountered her on her own at night. He was swiftly shot in the eye and killed by Robin for the transgression.
