Origin

Hal was introduced in Robin Hood and Little John by Pierce Egan the Younger where he allied himself with Robin and Allan and helped them escape his cruel employer Baron Fizt Alwine at his foster sister Maude Lindsay's urging. His knowledge of the Baron's castle and its secret tunnels aids Robin on many occasions.
