Origin[]
One of Robin's first Merry Men, and in some tales the first Will Stutely is a character dating back to the old ballads.
Early Life[]
Will has been portrayed as having been Robin's Steward and therefore the first of the Merry Men, in his first portrayal he joined Robin's band after being rescued by the outlaw. He was the eldest of the Merry Men and one of Robin's trusted advisors.
Naming Little John[]
It was Will who gave John the sobriquet Little John upon the larger man's joining the Merry Men.
Later Life[]
He was pardoned when the king returned alongside the rest of the Merry Men.
